The underlined words are Verbs

Verb shows the action of nouns or pronouns.

·        The sun rises in the east.

·        We did it yesterday.

Verb shows the action being done in a sentence.

·        The milk is hot.

·        I am a student of class five.

·        They are happy here.

·        Rai and Debu were in this school last year.

·        I was in class four.

Verb shows belonging or possession

·        I have two pens.

·        Jui and Anita have a nice story book.

·        Moumita has that book also.

·        I had a bicycle. 

·        My two classmates had some good friends.

Examples of Principal and Auxiliary verbs

·        He does not work today.

·        Madhu is doing his own work.

·        I am swimming across the river.

·        The gate was opened for all.

In the above four sentences ‘work’, ‘doing’ ‘swim’ ‘opened’ are the principal verbs and ‘does’, ‘is’, ‘am’, ‘was’ are supporting the principal verbs. So, does’, ‘is’ ‘am’ ‘was’ are auxiliary verbs.

Kazi Nazrul Jayanti celebration

Kazi Nazrul Jayanti was celebrated on 24th May in our school assembly hall at 4pm. Some cultural programmes had been arranged to celebrate  Kazi Nazrul Jayanti. First, we put garland on the photograph of Kazi Nazrul Islam. Then some students sang Nazrul Geeti, some recited his poems and at last the students of class V performed a play. Some teachers made ending speeches on the poet.
