The Present Continuous Tense Class 3
We use the present continuous tense when we talk about things happening at the time of speaking.
The action started earlier and is going on as we speak.
The form of the present continuous tense → am/is/are + verb + -ing.
●He is reading a storybook. →is + read (base form of the verb) + -ing
●We are waiting for a bus. → are + wait (base form of the verb) + -ing
●I am studying for a test. → am + study (base form of the verb) + -ing
We use the present continuous tense when something is happening for a short period of time.
●We are staying here for two weeks.

We also use the present continuous tense when we talk about changes that are happening.

We can ask questions about an action that started earlier and is still continuing.
1. We can ask a Wh-question with a Wh-question word at the beginning.
