A visit to a historical place of interest, always has an educative value, besides providing pleasure. I had a chance to visit Murshidabad, the ancient capital of undivided Bengal. The place still breathes an aura of antiquity. I was fascinated to see the historical tombs, mosques, and palaces. I first visited the Sabji Katra mosque. The carvings on the temple are exquisite to say the least as it combines the features, of Hindu, Islamic and Buddhist teachings. of Rani Bhavani reveals subtlety, complexity and richness of contrast with the grandeur of the Islamic tombs, the temple ornamentation. I was really enriched by the visit. History came alive in front of my eyes.
