Schedule Date for KVS Admission 2023-24

The KVS admission 2023-24 schedule dates of different classes that have been announced are given below in the questions answers form. The admission schedule has been described in the following three steps.

Class I registration for KVS admission 2023-24

  • Online Registration for Class-I will begin on 27.03.2023 (Monday) from 10:00 AM onwards.
  • The last date of Online Registration for Class-I will close on 17.04.2023 (Monday) at 7:00 PM.
  • This Registration process will be available only in online mode (not offline mode).

For Admission to Class I

  • 1st list wiil out on 20.04.2023 (Thursday) and Admission will be from 21.04.2023 onwards.
  • 2nd list will be out on 28.04.2023 (Friday) if seats remain vacant.
  • 3rd list on 04.05.2023 (Thursday) if seats remain vacant

For Online Admission Related Query Class I 2023-24

Admissions under RTE Provisions, SC, ST, and OBC (NCL)

  • Admission notification will be published on Notification on 03.05.2023 (Wednesday).
  • Registration will begin from 04.05.2023 (Thursday) to 11.05.2023 (Thursday)
  • Display of list and Admissions 18.05.2023 (Thursday) to 25.05.2023 (Thursday)
  • All the registration and admission process will be done in only offline mode if sufficient applications were not received in online mode.

The process to Make an Admission List for Class I onwards

Admission of eligible candidates from the selected list in the following order:

  • RTE
  • From Service Priority Category (I and II) only
  • The shortfall of Reservation Quota after admission in (i) and
  • above

Class II onwards registration for KVS admission 2023-24

  • Registration for Class II onwards will begin on 03.04.2023 (Monday)
  • The last date for submission of the registration form for Class II onwards will close on 12.04.2023 (Wednesday).
  • Class II onwards registration will commence only in offline mode (No online mode).
  • Declaration of the list of class II onwards will be on 17.04.2023 (Monday)
  • Admission for class II onwards will be from 18.04.2023 (Tuesday) to 29.04.2023 (Saturday).

The Last Date of Addmission for all classes except class XI

The last date of admission for 2023-24 for all classes except class XI is on 30.06.2023 (Friday).

Class XI registration for KVS admission 2023-24

For KV Students

Registration for admission in class XI will be within 10 days after the declaration of class X results.
Display of admission list & admissions for Class within 20 days after the declaration of class X results.

For KV Students

Registration, display of admission list & admissions in class XI (Subject to availability of vacancies)will be made after the admissions of KV students in class XI.

The KVS Admission Notice 2023-24

The KVS Admission 2023-24 Notice that has been proclaimed by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is as follows.

Class 1 KVS Admission 2023-24 will commence at 10.00 am on 27/30/2023 and this admission procedure will end at 07:00 pm on 17/04/2023.

The minimum age for admission in class 1 will be 6 years. Age for Admission from class 1 to class 10 will be calculated as of 31/03/2023.

Registration for Class II and above will start from 03.04.2023 (Monday) at 08:00 am to 12.04.2023 (Wednesday) up to 04:00 pm if vacancies exist in offline mode only. Parents or Guardians must submit the duly filled-up form to the office of the Principal in the respective KV.

All information regarding Admission & Registration forms for Class II and above are available on the Vidyalaya Websites and one can make registration as per the Schedule for Admission -2023-24.

Registration for Class II and above will be accepted only if a vacancy exists in the respective KV.

Admission will not be granted if wrong and misleading information in the application form is found at the time of scrutiny by the KV.

Reservation of seats will be as per KVS Admission Guidelines 2023-24 available on the Website.

The official Android Mobile App for KVS Online Admission for Class-I for the Academic Year 2023-24 and instructions for downloading and installing the App will be available at Google Play Store. Notice Admission 2023-24 in Hindi

  • कक्षा १ केवीएस प्रवेश 2023-24 27/30/2023 को सुबह 10.00 बजे शुरू होगा और यह प्रवेश प्रक्रिया 17/04/2023 को शाम 07:00 बजे समाप्त होगी।
  • कक्षा १ में प्रवेश के लिए न्यूनतम आयु ६वर्ष होगी। कक्षा १ से कक्षा 10 तक प्रवेश हेतु आयु की गणना 31/03/2023 के अनुसार की जायेगी।

Eligible Age for Admission | प्रवेश के लिए योग्य आयु

A Child must be 6 years old for Class I as of 31/03/2023 for the academic session 2023-24.

The minimum and maximum age limit for admission in Kendriya Vidyalayas in various classes is given below: (Child born on 1st April should also be considered.)

शैक्षणिक सत्र 2023-24 के लिए 31/03/2023 तक कक्षा १ के लिए बच्चे की आयु 6 वर्ष होनी चाहिए।

Class I to VIII KVS Admission Procedure

For Class I to VIII KVS Admission, Advertisement shall be issued by the Regional Office or on the ‘KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA SANGATHAN’ website as per the admission schedule. Admissions for class I are being done online mode & for other classes it is offline.

Parents are invited to register their wards for admission to Kendriya Vidyalaya.

Admission in Kendriya Vidyalaya in different classes is not restricted to only Central Govt. employees but is open to all, only certain priorities have been laid down for different categories to regulate the admissions.

The reservations for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, and Differently Abled under RTE Act 2009 should also be indicated.

Admission test shall not be conducted for admission to CLASS II to VIII and the admission may be granted based on the Priority Category system (1 to 5 or 6 as the case may be). If applications are more than the number of seats, a lottery system will be followed in each category including single girl child quota (Class VI Onwards).

Composition of Committee for Offline Draw of lots:

Every Kendriya Vidyalaya will constitute a committee for the purpose of monitoring a system of Draw of Lots to be held in Class I or in any other class (for offline mode only) 

wherever such a stage is reached when all candidates of a particular category or having the same number of transfers cannot be accommodated against an available number of seats.

The committee will comprise the following five (05) members: –

An additional 6th member can be nominated by the Principal from the students of class IX to XII wherever these classes exist.
This committee may be notified with the concurrence of the Chairman, VMC, at least 5 days in advance of the draw of lots and be displayed on School Notice Board.

Admission Procedure for Class IX

For admission to Class IX, an admission test shall be conducted and a merit list will be prepared for each category of priority separately. Admission shall be granted in the sequence of priority categories, in the order of merit.

(i) Admission tests shall be conducted in the subjects: Hindi, English, Maths, Social Science, and Science.

(ii) There will be only one paper of the Admission test of 3 Hours duration & 100 marks comprising Hindi, English, Maths, Social Science, and Science each of 20 marks.

(iii) Candidates must secure 33% marks in aggregate to qualify. Students belonging to SC/ST/Divyang category (PH) will be eligible for admission on securing 25% in aggregate.

Admission Procedure for Class XI KV Students

Admission in different streams, Science, Commerce & Humanities be based on merit up to a maximum of 55 strength in the case of KV students as per availability of streams in the Kendriya Vidyalaya.

Choice of the stream will be taken from students with parental consent before the declaration of merit list. The stream will be allotted on the basis of marks obtained in the Class X CBSE Board Examination.

Once the seats are exhausted in one stream students have to take admission in the other available stream in that Vidyalaya. The undertaking is to be obtained from students before the finalization of the merit list by KV.

The KVS Admission 2023-24 Registration Condition

(i) Parents will not be able to fill up the registration form for a particular class if there is no vacancy or likelihood of any vacancy mentioned in the notification. If any vacancy arises in the future,the respective KV authority will make public notice regarding admission and then as per KVS Admission Guidelines, parents may follow the admission procedure.

(ii) In case the number of children seeking registration is less because of which all seats have not been filled up, the Principal shall issue a second advertisement in the month of May/June notifying the availability of vacancies.

(iii) Admissions are required to be made with the approval of the Executive Committee of the Vidyalaya In case the Executive Committee does not approve the admissions up to the full sanctioned strength of the class, the Principal shall intimate this fact to the Deputy Commissioner who may approve the admissions.

(iv) Registration forms shall be made available by the Principal Free of Cost. However, Class-I registration will be done online through Online Admission Portal when the portal is live.

(v) Registration for class XI shall be taken up immediately after the declaration of results of class X and admissions up to the full strength of the class should be completed within 20 days after the declaration of results by CBSE.

Documents Needed for Class 1 to IX Admission

For Class I certificate of proof of age in the form of a birth certificate issued by the authority competent to register births. This will include certificates from Notified Area Council / Municipality / Municipal Corporation extract about the date of birth from records of Village Panchayat, Military Hospital, and service records of Defence personnel.

A certificate that the child belongs to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/EWS/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/BPL wherever applicable, issued by the Competent Authority in the concerned State Government/Union Government.

If this certificate is not available for the child, the authority will accept the certificate of either parent initially for the purpose of admission. However, regarding the certificate of the child, parents must submit the same within 03 months from the date of admission.

A certificate from the civil surgeon/rehabilitation center or any other competent authority defined by the Government of India certifying the child is handicapped, wherever applicable. In cases, where the handicap of the child can be visually seen by the Principal, the child may be accepted as handicapped even without a certificate. However, the parent may be advised to obtain the relevant certificate from the Competent Authority and submit the same to the school.

A service certificate showing the number of transfers during the preceding 7 years duly signed and stamped by the head of the office bearing the name, designation, and other relevant particulars in block letters.

A certificate of retirement for uniformed Defence employees.

Proof of Residence.

Fees and Other Concessions for the KVS Admission 2023-24

No fee is to be charged to the children admitted under the 25% quota prescribed under RTE Act 2009.

Expenses on account of NCERT textbooks, notebooks, stationary, uniform, and transport will be reimbursed on production of proper bills in respect of 25% of the children admitted under the RTE Provisions subject to the ceiling prescribed and availability of funds.

Once the children are admitted in Class-I under RTE Act, they will continue to enjoy exemptions and concessions till class VIII either in the same KV or any other K.V. moving on transfer as per RTE Act.

Address proof of the parent should be furnished at the time of the registration.

The employees who have the facility of fee reimbursement in their departments cannot claim RTE concessions.

FAQ For Filling up the Online Application Form

Can I edit the application after submitting it?

Ans: No, You cannot edit the application after submitting it. However, the submitted application can be canceled and re-filled again before the last date of submission. Please note that once the application form is canceled, It will not be considered for admission. To cancel the submitted application form, the applicant needs to first log in to the portal. The status of the application form will be displayed as “submitted”. A button “Cancel Submitted Application form” will be shown. With a click of a button, an OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number. After entering the OTP correctly on the portal, the application will be canceled and the status of the application will be changed to Canceled. Once the application status is canceled, It will not be considered for admission unless the applicant re-applies and submits the application form again.

On a canceled status, Re-Apply with existing data and Re-Apply afresh will be displayed. To get the previously filled form back, press Re-apply with existing data. With the click of this button, the application form will open with previously filled data. Now, an applicant can make the required changes and submit the application form again. To get the new form, click on Re-Apply afresh button. An application form with only pre-filled registration data will open. The form can be filled out and submitted again with the process followed earlier.

How to use a calendar for filling dates in various forms?

Ans: To change the month, click on year once and to change the year, click on year twice. Next and previous arrows can also be used for selecting Month and year. After selecting desired year and month, select the day, and the date will be selected and visible in the text box. You can also enter the date in the specified format ( DD-MM-YYYY).

If I partially fill out the form and couldn’t complete the entire application at the same time, can the partial information be stored?

Ans: Yes, after filling the information, you can save the form by clicking on the ‘Save Application’ button on the registration page. Once the application is saved, saved data will be visible when you login next time. The saved data will not be visible to schools unless the form is submitted. Form submission must be done before the last date of registration. If the form is not submitted, it will not be considered for admission.

Is a service certificate mandatory for all the categories?

Ans: If you are applying in any category other than in the last category (which includes “Children from any other category”), you need to present a service certificate during the admission process in the concerned school. Sample proforma service certificates have been provided by KVS under the link “Proforma document samples”. If you are applying under the last category (which includes “Children under any other category”), you need not require a service certificate. The declaration of the distance of residence from school has not been shown on the portal. Is the parent’s declaration of the distance of residence from school mandatory in all cases?

How do I know that my application is submitted?

Ans: Please click on “Check Your Application Status” to confirm that your application has indeed been submitted.

For Twin Girls (applying under single girl child), do we need to register separately for each child?

Ans: Please register separately for each of the twin girls. Assuming both of them are opting for exactly the same set of schools, choose the “Single Girl Child” category in the application form for both applications. Ans: You can press Resend OTP button once. If you still do not receive OTP then you can register again with the same details. Please check if the mobile number is entered correctly.

What is the maximum file size for uploading a document?

Ans: The maximum file size for uploading is 256KB.

Can I upload the documents later?

Ans: You can save the form and upload the documents before the last date of registration.
