Examination Routine Class 11 Semester I and II WBCHSE 2024-25

Examination Routine Class 11 Semester I and II WBCHSE 2024-25 has been announced by the West Bengal Higher Secondary Education Board (WBCHSE) on 10th July 2024 on the official website.

Class 11 Semester I Examination will begin on 13/09/2024 (Friday) and continue till 30/09/2024 (Monday). Semester II Examination will begin on 03/03/2025 (Monday) and continue till 18/03/2025 (Tuesday).

The state government has introduced a semester system at the higher secondary level. The first batch will be given Higher Secondary (HS or Class 12th Exam) in the semester system in November 2025 and March 2026. 

Before that, the 11th semester system is starting in the academic year 2024-25. The West Bengal Higher Secondary Education Board (WBCHSE) has released the schedule of Examination Routine Class 11 Semester I and II WBCHSE.

Examination Routine Class 11 Semester I: 2024 

The first semester exams will be held from 3 pm to 4:15 pm every day for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Only Music, Visual Art, and Vocational subjects will be tested from 3 pm to 3 pm for 45 minutes. The supplementary examination of semester one will have to be organized by the concerned school in February 2025.

Supplementary Examination of Semester I is to be conducted by the schools in the month of February 2025 as per the convenience of the concerned institutions (Duration of examination is 01 hour 15 minutes for each subject except Visual Arts, Music, and Vocational Subjects. Duration for these subjects is 45 minutes).

While the first semester exams will be held from 3 pm to 4:15 pm every day for 1 hour and 15 minutes, the second semester exams will be held from 3 pm to 5 pm every day for 2 hours. However, only Music, Visual Art, and Vocational subjects will be tested from 3 pm to 3 pm for 45 minutes.

Semester II examinations will be held on each day from 3:00 pm to 05:00 pm (02 hours) except Visual Arts, Music and Vocational Subjects. The examination of these subjects will be of 01 hours 15 minutes duration (from 3:00 pm to 4.15 pm).

Supplementary Examination of Semester I is to be conducted by the schools in the month of February, 2025 as per the convenience of the concerned institutions (Duration of examination is 01 hour 15 minutes for each subject except Visual Arts, Music and Vocational Subjects. Duration for these subjects is 45 minutes).

PROJECT/ASSESSMENT TEST  – MARKS: 20 (Semester I + Semester II)

In the semester system for class XI, there will be two Exams. The Semester I Exam will have 50 marks ( Theory 40 marks + Assessment 10 marks), and the Semester II Exam will have 50 marks ( Theory 40 marks + Assessment 10 marks). Both semester exams will have 40 written marks each. The remaining 20 marks will come from an assessment test, which will be included in the second-semester exam.

N.B – Projects or assessments may be done throughout both semesters, but students will be evaluated at the end of the second semester.
