Bengali Meaning (বঙ্গানুবাদ)

         তখনকার দিনে একজন বৃদ্ধা মহিলা বাস করত। তিনি ছিলেন গ্রামের মধ্যে সবথেকে বৃদ্ধা মহিলা। তিনি একটি ছোট মাটির ঘরে বাস করতেন। তার কুড়ে ঘরটি ছিল ধানক্ষেতের পাশে। কিছুটা দূরে কতগুলো নারকেল গাছ ছিল। তিনি খুব অল্পই কাজ করতেন। তার যাওয়ার কোন জায়গা ছিল না । সেজন্য সারাদিন ধরে তিনি তার কুড়ে ঘরটি কে পরিষ্কার-পরিচ্ছন্ন করতেন ।

    এক গ্রীষ্মের দুপুরে, চারিদিকে প্রচন্ড ধুলো উড়ছিল । লোকজন সবাই কাশছিল  এবং হাঁচি  দিচ্ছিল সেই গুলোর জন্য । এমনকি আকাশ ও কাশল এবং হাঁচি দিল ।

সেই বৃদ্ধা মহিলাটির কুড়ে ঘরটি ধুলোয় ঢাকা পড়ে গেল । সেই বৃদ্ধা মহিলাটি শুধু ঝাঁটাতেই  লাগলেন তার সেই ছোট্ট কুঁড়ে ঘরটিকে। তিনি সেই কুড়ে ঘরের ভিতরে ঝাঁটাতে লাগলেন । তিনি সেই কুড়ে ঘরের বাইরে ও ঝাঁটাতে লাগলেন । সেই ধুলোগুলো বাদামি মেঘ আকারে তার চারিদিকে উড়তে লাগল। আকাশ সহজে নিঃশ্বাস নিতে পারছিল না ।সেই ধুলোগুলো তার নাকের মধ্যে ঢুকে গেল এবং তার হাঁচি হলো । সেই আকাশের এই হাঁচি গোটা জগতকে নাড়িয়ে দিল তার সেই ভয়ঙ্কর শব্দে। আকাশের এই হাঁচিকে বজ্র বলা হয় । লোকজন তাদের মাথা গুলোকে ঢেকে নিল এবং তারা ভয়ে ঘরের ভিতরে ছুটে চলে গেল । কিন্তু সেই বৃদ্ধা মহিলা তার ঝাঁটা দিয়ে ঝাঁটাতেই লাগলো ।

সেই ধুলো তার ঝাঁটা থেকে উঠে আকাশের চোখের মধ্যে ঢুকে গেল এবং  আকাশের চোখ জলে ভর্তি হয়ে গেল । সেই জল বৃষ্টি আকারে নিচে পড়তে লাগলো । সেই বৃষ্টির জলের ফোঁটা সেই বৃদ্ধা মহিলাটির যে জায়গাটি এইমাত্র ঝাঁটিয়ে পরিস্কার করছিল, সেই জায়গাটাতেই পড়ল ।

Bengali Meaning (বঙ্গানুবাদ)

         বৃদ্ধ মহিলাটি আকাশের দিকে ক্রুদ্ধ ভাবে তাকালো ।“এক্ষুনি বৃষ্টি থামাও” , সে আদেশ দিল । আকাশ কিন্তু বৃষ্টি থামল না। তার চোখ গুলো ধুলোয়  ভরে গিয়েছিল ওই বৃদ্ধা মহিলাটির জানানোর জন্য । বৃদ্ধ মহিলাটি ঝাঁটা তুলে নিল এবং আবার ঝাঁটাতে শুরু করলো। সে আরো জোরে জোরে ঝাঁটাতে লাগল। এবং এর ফলে আরও বেশি পরিমাণে ধুলো উপরের দিকে উঠতে লাগলো।

আকাশটি তার পথ থেকে লাফ দিয়ে সরে গেল। আকাশ ধুলো এড়িয়ে যাবার চেষ্টা করছিল।“দয়াকরে ঝাঁটানো বন্ধ করো” , আকাশ বৃদ্ধা মহিলাটি কে অনুরোধ করতে লাগলো। বৃদ্ধা মহিলাটি আকাশের অনুরোধ শুনল না। বৃদ্ধা মহিলাটি  ঝাটাতেই লাগলো। সে তার ছোট্ট মাটির ঘরে ঘরটিকে পরিষ্কার রাখতে চেয়েছিল।

আকাশ এটাকে আর সহ্য করতে পারলো না। সে হাঁচি দিল এবং কাশতে শুরু করলো। সে বজ্রপাত এবং বৃষ্টি ঘটাল। অবশেষে আকাশ উড়ে চলে গেল।সে উড়ে ওই বৃদ্ধা মহিলাটির ঝাঁটার নাগালের বাইরে চলে গেল। আকাশ আর কখনোই নিচে নেমে এলো না।

কিন্তু আকাশ এখনো পর্যন্ত ছোট্ট ছোট্ট ছেলে মেয়েদের কাছে বন্ধুই রয়েছে। দূর থেকে সে ওই ছোট ছোট বাচ্চা ছেলে মেয়েদের কে খেলা করতে দেখে এবং আনন্দের সঙ্গে হাসে।
